The goal of the OutDoor Club is to offer year-round outdoor and nature-based programming for all Door County youth. Providing outdoor learning experiences not only teaches our youth about nature but they also give kids the tools to develop compassion, a sense of community, independence, and pride. And, most importantly, these organized outdoor activities are FUN! Whether it’s a guided hike at a nature preserve or a kayak tour on one of our beautiful Door County waterways, we promise a fun and educational experience with the OutDoor Club.
The OutDoor Club is led by Matt Peter, Director of OutDoor Operations, who believes that getting outside is crucial to mental and physical development. Nature-based education has incredibly powerful effects on critical thinking, problem solving, and mental and physical health. It allows kids the opportunity to develop connections with the natural world and with their communities. And when you live in Door County, one of the most biologically diverse areas in the Upper Midwest, the opportunities for learning and fun in the outdoors are endless.
