Calling all Volunteers – Great Futures Start Here!
Whether you have a little time to give or a lot, we accept all commitment levels!
Meal & Snack Assistants BGCDC served over 19,000 snacks and over 3,400 meals after-school 2017-18. It takes many people to feed many children. Please consider helping us continue this vital meal program to kids who need it most!
Garden Helpers to assist with the planning and maintenance of the Boys & Girls Club’s Third Avenue garden. Includes planning, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and maintaining a compost bin.
Needs Closet Helpers Our Basic Needs Closet is located at the Hatch Center, and contains school supplies, clothing, hygiene items, and more! We are looking for individuals to oversee donations to our Basic Needs Closet and ensure it remains neat and tidy.
Club Facilitators If you have an activity you would like to share with our members, we would love to have you! You may only want to share an activity once (that’s great!) or perhaps you’d like to facilitate the activity over 6-8 club sessions and interact with the same group of members each week. We love providing our members with opportunities to learn about many different skills and talents. Let’s figure out how we can share yours!
Program Helpers Have a passion for interacting with kids? We need program helpers to assist our staff in facilitating fun activities for our members of all ages. From arts and crafts, to sports in our Rec Center, to helping with reading skills in our Kindergarten Program, and much more! This is a great way to make connections and get to know our members.
Elementary Youth Mentors Spend time with members who really benefit from one-on-one time. Read a book together, chat about your day, provide emotional support, be present. This type of interaction makes such a difference in the lives of our members.
Teen Center Mentors Hang out with members in our Teen Center (grades 6-9) and nurture their self-confidence, listen and help them problem-solve, and introduce them to new ideas, activities, and opportunities!
Club Mentors & Mentees must remain at the Club site.
Parent Committee – For adults who are parents or family members of our Club members, this Committee meets to have a voice in and be a support to BGCDC events, Programs, and building needs.
Facilities & Safety – seeking individuals interested in ensuring our club is safe and fully-functioning. Responsibilities include oversight of Club repairs and renovations, and developing safe work practices, and conducting workplace self-inspections.
We need your help to ensure great futures start here. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Gail Savage, call (920) 818-1046, or email firstname.lastname@example.org, to find out more about our volunteer application process. A background check is required.
